Logan Daily knew the power of organ donation from personal experience.
At 16, Logan’s life changed when he received a cornea transplant that restored his sight after a paintball injury. That gift allowed him to return to the outdoor activities he loved, and move forward with independence.
He never forgot that someone else’s generosity made his future possible. “That gentleman’s selfless decision to give Logan his sight shaped his own choice to register as a donor,” said his mother, Trina.
When Logan later passed away in a car accident, his decision to donate turned loss into hope for others. Through tissue and eye donation, 543 people received the gift of life from Logan.
His right cornea was donated to restore sight, bringing his story full circle.
“There’s comfort in knowing Logan gave what was once given to him,” Trina said.
Logan loved the outdoors and felt at home while fishing and spending time in nature. Today, his spirit lives on not only in those to whom he donated life, but also in every decision to register as an organ, eye, and tissue donor while applying for hunting and fishing licenses.
Trina’s purpose in life comes from the heart as she honors her son, Logan. She is dedicated to educating her community about organ, eye, and tissue donation, with the goal of encouraging more people to register as donors. She places strong emphasis on the importance of sharing one’s decision with loved ones, and finds deep satisfaction in supporting donor families.
Logan, and others who bravely donated life, are the heroes of Trina’s children’s activity book, Donor Heroes are Superheroes.
